Gang Xiang is Professor of Physics and Vice Dean of the College of Physical Science and Technology at Sichuan University.
His personal research as a condensed matter experimental physicist focuses on spintronics and electronics in solids, including semiconductor heterostructures, nanoscale magnets and other quantum structures. He has co-authored more than 60 papers, and is the recipient of a Career Award for New Century Excellent Talents in University from the Ministry of Education of China, an Award for Young Scientists from Sichuan Province and the Tanglixin Award for Teaching Excellence from Sichuan University. His research has been funded by National Key R&D Program of China (NKRDPC), National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and the Ministry of Education of China, among other organizations.
Before joining SCU, Dr. Xiang was a postdoctoral researcher at Ohio State University. Prior to that, he performed postdoctoral work at Pennsylvania State University. He received his B.S. and M. S. from Lanzhou University in 1998 and 2001, respectively, and his Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University in 2006.
